This Week in Racing Design: #3

”This week in racing design has been relatively calm“ was the intro we initially expected to write. Then came Thursday. Here's the third edition of our weekly motorsport design wrap-up.

Is this the real life?

Charles Leclerc, Romain Grosjean, Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris, George Russell and Carlos Sainz (and probably many more) will drive with special helmet designs in the upcoming US Grand Prix. Great job, everybody! We imagine that especially MDM Designs might've put in one or two extra hours the last weeks.

Is this just fantasy?

Alright, here's the really big news: Formula 1 and its constructors decided on what the future will look like. Turns out it will look awesome. Additionally, Renault, McLaren and Williams were very kind to provide some of their own 2021 concepts.

Back to the 90s!

Speaking of McLaren, Thursday was the 20th anniversary of Mika Hakkinen's second world championship title. Fittingly, the team performed a mega throwback on Twitter that immediately made us look for our ”Oops, I Did It Again“ tape in the basement. We found it – and then realized we had sold our Sony Walkman back then.

More National Liveries!

It's time for the inaugural FIA Motorsport Games this weekend. That also means: more liveries!

New skin for a Jaguar

The Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy will be heading into its second season next month. For this occassion, the default livery got a little overhaul – basically inverted colours and slightly different lines.

V8 Supercars. Damn.

Said it before, will say it again: every single V8 Supercar livery looks amazing.

Found something that wasn't on the list? Tweet us @btwnracinglines and we'll include it in next week's edition!
